Important things to note in installing a bat house
- The bat house should be at least 12-15 feet high
- Bat house needs to be out in the open either on a post or in a tree that does not have many branches blocking its view
- A bat house should face southwest
- Bats are not automatically attracted to the bat house, a good way to to bring them to the bat house is to take some of their droppings and mix it with water then spray the wood of the bat house.
