Keeping a bat colony nearby can greatly reduce the activity of mosquitoes to make your outdoors more enjoyable for cook outs and bonfires during the summer months.

Bats can eat up to 10x their body weight a night in mosquitoes, or up to 1000 mosquitoes an hour! that’s better than any type of body spray or repelling candle is going to perform. Plus with a bat colony eating up your mosquitoes (and other bugs) you don’t have to deal with spraying smelly pesticides and needing to constantly retreat the area.

Keeping bats out of the house or building is definitely priority number one, but having a bat house in your yard is a great benefit to you and your family. We offer bat house installation with multiple designs to suit the size of bat colony you would like on your property. The more bats are around the better the mosquito population is controlled. Having proper knowledge of where to place the bats house is important and also the height and direction you should place the bat house.

Important things to note in installing a bat house

  • The bat house should be at least 12-15 feet high
  • Bat house needs to be out in the open either on a post or in a tree that does not have many branches blocking its view
  • A bat house should face southwest
  • Bats are not automatically attracted to the bat house, a good way to to bring them to the bat house is to take some of their droppings and mix it with water then spray the wood of the bat house.
